The Mineral Museum of Milos was founded by S&B Industrial Minerals S.A. in 1998 in order to honor and promote the mineral history as well as the geologic and natural heritage of Milos.
The social, financial and technological aspects of Milos are presented in the ground floor of the building. The minerals that used to be mined on the island are presented all the way to the present day. Furthermore, you can watch the short films and learn all about the procedure of mining or even listen to old miners talk about their life and work in the mines.
The Museum organizes walks, educational programs and recreational activities in cooperation with specialized professionals. In its 12 years of operation, the Museum has been visited by more than 135,000 people from Greece and abroad, whereas it has become a favorite destination of educational tourism.
